Joseph Shrock
Joseph Shrock, Owner
Joseph Shrock is a true businessman. He is proud that the Shrock Family of Companies are firmly rooted in Christian faith and Amish tradition. His companies uphold a code of values including respect of others, integrity, customer focus, and having fun throughout the process! His vision for his companies is to be a place where gratitude, loyalty and a positive attitude is expressed and where daily challenges become opportunities. He desires of himself and his team to use our God given talents to be of service to our families, our customers, and our community.
Joseph Shrock began in the building industry as a young teenager with his father, Melvin. He officially acquired the family company in 1984 with a goal of transforming it into a first class, superior custom construction company. Joseph Shrock soon developed a reputation second to none for delivering quality results on time. He transformed their already successful wood framing business into a load bearing metal framing enterprise and founded the Shrock Prefab Company. Shrock Prefab continues as a premier fabricator for panelization work across the country. Projects include hotels, military barracks, dormitories, and even stadiums throughout the country.
Also in the Shrock family of companies is Shrock Premier Custom Construction, Shrock Premier Cabinet Division, Rainbow International/Shrock Restoration, Shrock Excavating and Demolition, Shrock Engineering, The Mohican Country Market, Mohican Lawn Structures, and Shrock Real Estate.
Brayton Orchard
Brayton Orchard, Residential Designer & Draftsman
Brayton has a background in architecture and construction management. At Shrock, he works to translate initial sketches into construction document sets. He sees conceiving, executing, and experiencing buildings and places as analogous to the communicative process of language, especially as it finds life moving from one person to another.
He lives in central Ohio with his wife Emily, where they enjoy spending time with their families and talking about God.
Kathy Harlan
Kathy Harlan, Design Coordinator
Home design and construction have been a big part of Kathy's life. She grew up in a family business of home builders where she fell in love with the art of making residential spaces, from concept to finish. She later acquired an MFA in Fine Art and made a career teaching art & design at the college level. More recently, she integrated these two passions by turning her focus to interior design. Now, as part of the Shrock Design team, Kathy enjoys helping clients develop a home that is not only beautiful, but also functional and efficient. She likes to think of the home as a "livable work of art" that expresses the clients' personal lifestyle and tastes. She knows the value of carefully listening to her clients as she assists them in achieving a design plan that accurately reflects their vision. Anyone who has experienced building a custom home knows that it consists of many design decisions. Every detail matters and everything needs to come together to form an overall sense of unity. This could be challenging for homeowners, but Kathy breaks down the process into manageable steps, informing clients of product options and providing recommendations in design considerations. She then documents the selections and assures that ordering is successfully folded into the construction schedule.

Casey Hendershott
Casey Hendershott, Accounting Specialist
Casey is not only a numbers "wizard" in the accounting department at Shrock, but she is also an expert at daily putting a smile on everyone's face. In fact, her personal motto is "worry less, smile more!" She is always available to lend a helping hand and delights in problem solving as well as making sure that details are never overlooked. Casey's diligence helps to ensure that each of the Shrock Family of Companies continues to run smoothly. She infuses integrity into everything that she does.
Casey graduated from West Holmes, moved to Loudonville where she now lives with her husband, Zach and their two beautiful children. As a family, they love being active: hiking, biking, camping, and making memories together at their favorite family destination: Cedar Point. Casey feels blessed to be a part of the Shrock Family and cannot wait to continue to grow with this amazing company!
Sam Shrock
Sam Shrock, Owner
As the only son of Joseph Shrock, Sam has been immersed in the realm of entrepreneurship since he could walk. Together with his father, he plays an integral role in leading multiple companies under the Shrock umbrella.
Sam's journey in business began with hands-on experience in the field, spending a decade honing his skills in construction and development. From laying the foundation to overseeing complex projects, He has gained extensive knowledge that forms the backbone of his expertise today.
Transitioning from hands-on fieldwork to a strategic focus, Sam now spends a significant portion of his time on business development, shaping the culture, and charting the future direction of Shrock. One of his deepest passions lies in nurturing and empowering his people. Sam believes that investing in his team not only drives individual growth but also fuels the collective success of our endeavors.
Sam enjoys traveling the world and is an avid outdoorsman who loves physically challenging adventures. Sam married his best friend Leah in June of 2020 and their daughter, Mylah Saige, was born in 2023.
Nicole Mollohan
Nicole Mollohan, Design Coordinator
Building a home inherently requires a multitude of decisions which must be made in a timely manner. Care must also be given to record these selections, acquire samples, and make certain that all elements blend perfectly together. This can be exhausting and overwhelming. However, Shrock provides an answer for design decision overload!!
Nicole Mollohan is Design Coordinator for the Shrock Family of Companies. It is her pleasure to assist clients with selections from the interior to the exterior of their dream project. She strives to make the selection process as easy, stress free, and fun as possible. Nicole even records and keeps track of everything for our clients from flooring to faucet choices, and is happy to travel to our selection locations or building sites to meet our clients to assist with anything they need.
Nicole has her Associates Degree in Applied Science of Interior Design, and has been working in the design industry since early 2018. She began her career as a Kitchen Designer, which she still loves, however, Nicole always had a passion to expand her talents into coordinating all design elements together. She feels that she has found her dream job here at Shrock Premier Custom Construction, and takes great joy in sharing in the design decision process with clients. Her real satisfaction comes while helping others to reflect their unique style and watching their ideas come to life visually into one cohesive stunning unit.
"When building, there are many selections which need to be made and it can easily become stressful when there is no one to guide you and organize everything. That is what I am here for. I will help make sure selections are made in a timely manner, be your personal designer to help you make those decisions, as well as organize everything for you so if you forget what you selected months prior, you can easily locate it to refresh your memory. My goal is to make this process as easy and fun for you as possible as the way it should be!"
Becky Reymond
Becky Reymond, Architectural & Structural Drafting
Becky came to the Shrock Premier team in early 2016 with 20 years of experience in architectural and structural drafting for both residential and commercial projects, working directly with clients and frequently collaborating with firms designing the mechanical & electrical components of a project. During her years spent working for a structural engineer, she also gained experience in designing and incorporating prefabricated engineered wood trusses in various types of projects, saving on construction time and costs. Becky is excited to be a member of the Shrock team, both for the quality and attention to detail, and the integrity and focus on understanding clients' needs that Shrock Premier Custom Construction and the Shrock family of companies represents.
Whether working with clients and collaborating with co-workers and other professional consultants on commercial projects, or developing residential concept drawings into complete sets of construction drawings, Becky is passionate about creating spaces that meet the needs of the client in every way. Using the powerful building modeling tools in the Revit BIM software she is excited to also be able to show clients exterior and interior three dimensional views of their home or commercial building design in a way that she believes truly helps people imagine themselves living or working in the space daily.
In addition to shaping spaces that fit clients' needs, she is conscious of the need to respect budgets, and looks for ways to develop each custom plan to make efficient use of building materials and facilitate the on-site construction process. Approaching each unique challenge as an opportunity, Becky is committed to making each project a success.
Becky grew up in and has been a longtime resident of Ohio, is married with two grown daughters who also live in Ohio. A graduate of Kent State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Becky also pursued post-graduate studies in art at KSU, coursework in administration at Southern Illinois University, and completed coursework in architectural drafting and building construction technology at Stark State College of Technology.
Ruthie Deal
Ruthie Deal, Marketing Manager for The Shrock Family of Companies
If anyone has a question about the beginnings or history of the Shrock Companies, Ruthie is the "go to" person to ask. She has been with the company longer than most all employees, held many positions, and has always served as one of Joseph Shrock's "right-hand people."
She has worked in a multitude of capacities for Shrock and is now marketing manager for all divisions of The Shrock Family of Companies. Her current duties include monitoring and updating all of the various Shrock websites, social media posts, and Google business information updates.
The biggest challenge of Ruthie's job is that there are not enough hours in the day; however, her rewards are helping others in making their job easier, and also seeing that her work increases public awareness, and positivity towards the Shrock Companies.
Apart from Shrock, Ruthie loves to travel, her favorite trips being to the Dominican Republic and Hawaii. She also loves day trips in her jeep, bonfires with friends, listening to music, spending time on the lake fishing and swimming and just being outdoors.
Ruthie and her husband, Dave reside in Butler, Ohio. They are proud parents of two grown sons and one grandson. As a family, they love watching OSU games and spending as much time together as possible.
Joas Troyer Jr.
Joas Troyer Jr, Supervisor
Joas, better known as Jr., became a part of the Shrock team in 2021. He brought with him many years of residential construction experience which quickly landed Jr. the position of Job Site Supervisor for Urban Meadows Development in Bellville, OH. His job's biggest challenge is the amount of work yet to be completed within the 70 plus lot development; however, Jr. has a deep sense of pride and satisfaction as each new custom home is completed.
Jr. resides in Berlin, Ohio in Holmes County with his beautiful wife, Marie and four wonderful children: Deborah, Julianne, Evan, and Josiah. Outside of construction work, Jr. enjoys family time, road trips, fishing and camping.
Sue Amstutz
Sue Amstutz, Concept Designer
The design process most often begins with Sue. She loves working with clients, taking their dream, wish list, space requirements, budget, and inspiration photos to assist them in putting their vision into an initial concept drawing. Each client is unique therefore, each project is unique. Sue's design philosophy is that quality design offers each person the beauty and functionality that they desire within their given parameters. "Each Shrock home is a quality built, custom piece created especially for you. My goal is to create a home which truly reflects each distinctive family and provides spaces which inspire while being wonderfully useful at the same time." Sue has been designing both residential and commercial spaces since 2008. She has had some of her designs featured in a national publication as well as contributing to design articles. She holds a Master's degree in Theater, and taught at the University level for over 10 years. She has two married sons, and she and her husband reside in Ashland,Ohio. …in a home designed by Sue.
Shayne Glass
Shayne Glass, CPA Controller
Shayne Glass is a cherished member of the Shrock family of companies. He is a talented and determined individual who believes in hard work, perseverance and steadfast integrity…all qualities which not only contribute to the success of our companies, but if applied, contribute to the success of our country as well. Believing that God is our ultimate leader, Shayne strives daily to follow God's will for his life, and in doing so is able to utilize his passions, gifts, and talents for the benefit of others. After Shayne became a member of our team, Shrock soon realized that CPA doesn't just mean Certified Public Accountant but also Credible, Positive, and Accountable!!!
"From early in my high school years I knew accounting was the profession for me. It is my career goal to become a well-respected CPA. I am a graduate of Franklin University with a Master's of Science (MSA) in Accountancy. I became a licensed CPA in May of 2015. It is an honor to be a part of the Shrock Family of Companies and I am excited to face the challenges that lie ahead of me!"
